I wrote this piece of art at 1:00 A.M. one night when something very random urged me to get out of bed and write. I didn’t know what I was writing, but 5 minutes in, these words were on my phone. I believe God uses our talents to impact this world with His message and His unconditional love. Just like He did with me, to communicate to this world the REAL MEANING of CHRISTMAS.
A poem written by me:
Christmas is…
Â
Christmas is not about winter,
Or a snowy, mountain shack.
Christmas is about a loving God,
Who gave His life to win us back.
It is not about the pretty mistletoes.
Neither is it about the Christmas trees.
Christmas is the celebration of a man,
Who, for our sake, was brought down to His knees.
Christmas isn’t multi-colored lights,
Or pies, or cookies, or a happy state.
Christmas is a little born baby.
The son of Mary who reversed your fate.
Christmas is not the big Santa you see,
With his gifts and his reindeers.
Our God is more than that.
He gives us strength and takes our fears.
All the songs that we sing,
And all the Christmas cheer we spread,
Isn’t nearly half enough,
To make our sin, less red.
But He said, “Come.”
“Come to me and the truth you will know.
Then you will be set free,
And you will be whiter than snow.”
He took our sin for Himself,
And turned our mourning into dancing.
He watches over our fragile lives.
Not one minute when He’s not glancing.
He became obedient unto death,
And carried His cross till the very end.
The curtain torn, the burden gone.
Only for God and man to once again, befriend.
Christmas is about that family dinner,
Where Jesus occupies a chair.
Christmas is the universe bowing down,
To the kingly worship in the air.
How else can someone love?
Isn’t Christmas nothing but Him?
The God who humbly became man.
And filled our cups to the brim.

If you felt moved or touched by this, do share it with someone who needs to feel the same- a loving touch by God.
Have a blessed Advent Season and a joy-filled Christmas!
